Let's reduce plastic! Paper straws? No, let's talk about why this
company's straws are unique and more specifically about the
company Loliware. Two women had a goal after learning about the
billions of cups that ended up in landfills every year. They went on
the TV show Shark Tank to present edible cups in 2015, but the idea
had flaws. However with the right investors, raising their own
money by kickstarter and Mark Cuban, lead investor from Shark
Tank, the edible cups transformed into edible straws and are
coming soon in 2019.
CEO & founder Chelsea Fawn Briganti has a vision for this company.
Loliware's focus is on the ocean and their goal is to live a plastic
free world and tree free world.
How is the straw edible? The straw is made from seaweed and
designed to disappear by composting or by natural ways. The straw
feels and looks like a plastic straw, but is better than a plastic and
paper straw combined. It is gluten-free, sugar-free, and non-GMO.
In addition, paper straws only last about an hour but these straws
can last over 18 hours. How much better can it get?
