Livelihood Award for her fight for the rights of the
LGBT community in her country.
In 2002 she was almost expelled from university
because of her sexual orientation. As a result,
she began her career as an activist and founded
the NGO Freedom and Roam Uganda, a lobby
for changes in discriminatory policies and laws.
